DELL/SCOPE

In view of globalization, it is necessary to restructure the curriculum of the colleges and university education in 21st century.The teaching of English has to shift from Literature to Language and communication skills.

In this direction office of the commissioner, Higher education,Government of Gujarat has undertaken a major project of establishing LAN based spoken English Language Laboratory across the state.

The courses run in the DELL are on functional English. This project is undertaken by Society for Creation of Opportunity through Proficiency in English - SCOPE, an autonomous body established by Government of Gujarat.

SCOPE works for creation of English language proficiency in youth of Gujarat and hence to increase his employability. It also provides assessment and certification in association with Cambridge University.

In context of the SCOPE initiative to impart English language and other skills using ICT in the youth of Gujarat. For that GoG is setting up the infrastructure across all its colleges.

Our college has granted this DELL in second phase by Government of Gujarat, inaugurated by Kiritbhai Patel, Hon. Secretary, BPKM in August 2009.

From 2011 DELL - Digital English Language Laboratory is rename with DEL Lab. - Digital Education and Learning Laboratory. To make the course accessible to all, the fee structure is fairly reasonable and affordable.

Fees for levels A1 to level B2 includes training, course material, exam coordination, assessment and certification. For the college students who just want to assess their current level of English proficiency or who want to have a credible certification in their resume, College has devised a very innovative arrangement.

Under OAS, fee for college students is only Rs. 300/- for A level course and Rs. 400/- for B level course. It gives them a chance to benchmark themselves at the international standards in English language at a very nominal cost.
